This week we brought in three more treats from Dark Horse Wines, their Chardonnay, Merlot and Red Blend. All three sound delicious just from the descriptions on the back; I can tell you for certain the Chardonnay is impeccable though. It was a tough decision on which to open first, but I decided on the Chard, which was not a bad choice. Following suit of their Cabernet, which I reviewed here, the Chard is big and flavorful and does not shy away from showing off its flavors. The biggest contributing flavor is vanilla pulled straight from the oak barrels it was fermented in, followed by a mellow yet present butteriness that carries it through to the creamy slightly crisp finish. Check back later on the Staff Picks & Reviews page as I continue to drink through the other two bottles.
