It's amazing how good a Manhattan tastes after a long productive work week. We recently got a new shipment of Woodford Reserve in this week. I have been meaning to try this bourbon for a about a year based on recommendation of a few fellow bourbon drinkers. I've also been very excited about all the interesting Bittercube Bitters we have been getting in lately.

Last weekend seemed like a perfect opportunity to have a Woodford Manhattan, but first a sip of Woodford neat. I get some really smooth nutty caramel flavor in this with a decent amount of spice. On to the Manhattan. A couple of cubes, some dry vermouth and some Bittercube Jamaican #2 with grapefruit, hibiscus, and spices and I was in business. Just a half a dropper of Jamaican #2 goes a long way, but livens up the drink. Yep, Manhattans are my new cocktail of choice.
