Oud Bruin pours out a deep brown color with a surprising amount of tan head that sticks around. The smell is leather, chocolate and a little bit of musty funk. The flavor is much of the same. Mostly funk going on from the wild yeast, some chocolate and roast character with funk and leather complexity on the finish. This reminds me a lot of Odell Sabetour and not so much of something like Liefman's Goudenband that has a lot of acidity and lactic sourness. This would be a very good one to drink now and lay one down in a cellar for a while as it is just coming into its own. Yay for more American beers with wild yeast!
