With all sorts of Winter Warmers floating around right now it was a very welcome visit this week when our local Lakefront rep. Alex dropped off a few samples of their Holiday Spice. I'm usually only good for a few beers in this style per season so it was cool to try something I haven't had before. Oh and there's orange peel going on in this beer. I love orange peel in beer.

Lakefront Holiday Spice is a deep brown color with a nose of clove and nutmeg with a whiff of crisp mineral character. The flavor is a unique combo of crisp caramel malt mixed with light nutmeg and a hint of bitter fruit on the finish. This is dry with some lingering tasty nutty flavor. At nine percent alcohol it finishes very clean. No flaws here. A unique and tasty take on the style well worth checking out.
