I can't say I've tried a Stout in general from Lakefront so I really didn't know what to expect when I found out that for their 25th anniversary they brewed an Imperial Stout with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and cherry puree.
It's really nice to see some experimentation for this milestone for Lakefront. Everything about this was impressive for me. The smell was mostly a chocolate forward, smooth Imperial Stout while the flavor gave way to a slight but noticeable cherry bite on the finish. The body was thick but not overwhelming. The flavors added to the base beer were all modest but worked well. Cheers Lakefront for making a beer worthy of 25 years in business.
