Baker's is usually mentioned as on of the iconic names in bourbon with good reason. It's my new favorite American spirit around the $40 price point. What makes Baker's so unique is the stunning fruity blackberry character that you won't see in many other bourbons.
Baker's is aggressive yet candied when you smell it and there's a huge amount of complexity and nuance in the flavor. Leather, fig, caramel, vanilla, and mint are just a few of the flavors present after just seven years of aging. Its wonderful neat, makes a mean Manhattan and should be something you try if you are at all into bourbon. Cold weather just makes bourbon drinking feel so right.
