To honor National Drink Wine Day this past Tuesday I am writing to you my friends, if not to only inform you about National Drink Wine Day, but also of what I drank, and what will shared with you Friday, which just happened to be the 786 Merlot. When I think of Merlot’s, I think of probably the most laid back flavor profiles around, not overly fruit forward, nor overly tannic; but hey, I can be wrong sometimes. On my first sip I was greeted by just a mellow friendly flavor that washed over my mouth leaving me relaxed and not feeling like I had something complicated to figure out. Let's be honest, I should have known better. 786 made a solid product with their Merlot, after a couple more sips I was pleased to find a light fruitiness and a reflective tannic sensation, neither of which were intense, but just existed for a time before leaving you be with an inner peace. This wine is just happy to be around, and I am happy to drink it, just as I hope you are as well. Mark your calendars for next February 18th, maybe we can plan a party!
